You Can Now Have a Meatless Filet Mignon Delivered to Your Door
The wait is over: tender, marbled, savory steaks are now on the market completely meat free.
Juicy Marbles now offers whole cut steaks for delivery that are 100% plant-based. The company’s first offering is the ultimate in steak extravagance: a Filet Mignon.
Juicy Marbles uses a patent pending technology called the Meat-o-matic Reverse Grinderβ’ 9000 to make the meaty creations.
According to a press release: “they have been able to mimic the muscle texture and marbling of meat by aligning and layering fibers from the bottom up with all-natural ingredients.”
The steaks are available to ship direct-to-consumer to the 48 States and throughout Europe for a limited time through the Juicy Marbles website. Dubbed the Juicy A5 Tenderloin, the steak runs a pricey $147.58. But let’s be real — isn’t it worth it?!
“The biggest challenge was getting the right fiber alignment and intramuscular fat structure – the marbling,” says co-founder Luka Sincek. “The most expensive steaks in the world are known for their lush marbling. It takes a lot of energy and a rare breed of cow to attain that. With plant meat, we control it and, thus, over time, can scale up our steak production and bring down the price. Eventually, we’ll be able to make the most premium meats attainable for everyone.”
Just like the real thing, the meats come raw and unseasoned. As Vladimir Mickovic, Chief Brand Officer says: “The allure of meat is not just texture or flavor, it’s also simplicity of preparation. A sprinkle of salt, sizzle on the pan, and boom – you have a tasty protein on your plate.”
This definitely changes the game for die-hard carnivores, flexitarians and vegans alike.
