You Can Now Have a Bucket of Vegan Fried Chicken Delivered to You Anywhere in the U.S.

Missing those crispy, crunchy KFC buckets on a plant-based diet? Not anymore, you won’t.

With the opening of Eat Love in Southern Calif., you can officially have a bucket of vegan fried chicken delivered to you anywhere in the lower 48 states.

Say you’re in the middle of nowhere and craving some seriously delicious fried chicky … all you’ve gotta do is place an order and it’ll be delivered lickety split.

Eat Love is the first-ever first 100% vegan fried “chicken” restaurant in the U.S., and offering nationwide delivery makes their offerings extra special.

Founded by Lynn Torres and her husband Enrique, Eat Love started with a food truck. The duo had been traveling the country for years before they finally decided to open a brick-and-mortar location.

Lynn and Enrique were inspired to start the business after Enrique was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes; together the two weighed 610 pounds. But they went plant-based and never looked back!

“I loved fried chick’n … I have always consumed it,” says Lynn. “When I became vegan I would try different brands from many different makers and I thought I could put my own spin on this. So I started to tinker and came up with my own version. Our chick’n launched this year and we didn’t have an idea it would take a life of its own. Very quickly we learned from our customers that they were going crazy for it. So I decided to brand it in a way that was reminiscent to brands we grew up with and I thought this was a great way to introduce vegan food to people that are skeptical of vegan food. Bringing food that brings back memories is a great way to connect with people.”

Lynn perfected the recipe by taste-testing with omnivorous friends and family. “Having my family, who is not vegan and my hardest critics, give me honest and sometimes painful feedback,” she says. “Once they gave me the final approval I knew it was time to launch it.”

If you’re wondering how they pack and send the vegan fried chicken while keeping it fresh, here’s how it works: they fry it, freeze it, and pack it to ship with frozen gel-packs. The chicken can stay frozen for up to three whole months.

Then, when you’re ready to eat it, you can reheat the chick’n in an oven at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. It’s even better reheated in an air fryer! (If you don’t have one, an air fryer is a magical appliance and the absolute best at reheating food.)

The full menu at Eat Love includes an array of mouthwatering options including buckets of different sizes, a fried chick’n grilled cheese, a hash & dash burrito, and sweets like pumpkin pie, too.

“We often get omnivores at our store that lured in by our social media and don’t realize we are a plant-based brand,” Lynn says. “So I would say to omnivores that are hesitant, just like the ones that come in, give plant-based food a try. Food is all about working spices and seasonings and none of those are animal-based so really we have all been eating a form of vegan food for many many years. Learning how to properly season and spice is what makes any dish amazing.”

For the holidays, Eat Love is offering meals for four, six, or 10 people including chic’n, mashed potatoes, gravy, mac-n-cheese, roasted veggies, biscuits, and a holiday pie. Some items are only available for local delivery, but the buckets can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. your heart desires. Is that a seriously awesome gift idea or what?
