As of yesterday, the VeganEgg is officially available online. Currently, it can be purchased via FoodFightGrocery.com, for $7.99.
For those who are new to the concept, the VeganEgg uses black salt, whole algal flour, and whole algal protein to replicate the taste and texture of real eggs. The product was a decade in the making, according to the Follow Your Heart folks.
The VeganEgg is also on its way to Amazon, a company spokesperson tells Latest Vegan News, so the uber-popular shopping site will have it for sale shortly. As far as brick and mortar retailers, “VeganEgg is available in the Follow Your Heart Café but not currently anywhere else. We hope that will be rolled out into more stores in the coming months.”
In the meantime, you can give your business to the awesome folks at Food Fight, a Portland, Ore.-based vegan store and online retailer.

we don't really need these synthetic food, it is not natural.
there are so many options for good protein, like lentils, beens, hummus, ect... it's tasty as well, there are so many great recipes in the Indian/ Asian or Arab kitchen which are experts on this type of food.
and for calcium as well, all we need to do is to read a little bit about nutrition.
all these replacements are not really good for us
True!
BUT - products like this drives the incentive for shops to support reduction strategies for animal based foods. Non-vegans are more likely to try to make vegetarian or vegan food if it's easy - and just exchanging one egg for a vegan egg is pretty easy.
I hope we'll get many more of such products :-)
So we'll said, Kasper! :)
No we don't need them but if it gives people an alternative or an option so they don't eat eggs affecting the lives of many chickens I'm happy for it to be out there!
Some of us do need these products, not all of us can have soy, lentils or beans, or even wheat
Is there a list of ingredients available?
Have purchased Follow the Heart cheeses in Singapore. Can't wait for their eggs to be available hear. Hope it's not too long. Vegan eggs is such a positive development for veganism. Well done.
Agreed, Tali and Maria on staying whole foods, plant-based and real. But, I also know some of these things make it easier for some people to move away from eating animal products. I am curious enough about the ingredients and texture to want to order it.
This is a dream come true for a lot of people. And its good for non-vegans that have high cholesterol.
Vegan Egg is an amazing egg replacer--- it is delicious, easy to make, and is cruelty free. This is a product whose time has come. It is heart healthy---and just damn delicious.
Tali, these eggs are not synthetic. It is a plant based food as natural as any plant based food. The benefit here is that the protein is plant based and healthy, unlike animal proteins.
Vegan eggs are a new, delicious, and practical option to add more variety, and excitement to our diet for vegetarians, vegans, and those who want to give it a try. It is delicious, and my family love it!
