These Vegan Jello Shots Are the Perfect Party Companion

Jello shots have always been the ultimate party companion. But besides being messy, they contain gelatin, which is made of ground up bones and tendons. Gross!

Enter vegan Jello shots, also known as Boozy Bites! These plant-based concoctions have all of the fun, none of the nastiness. Think of them as an upscale, gelatin-free choice instead of the old school, college-era option.

Founder Dee Dee Bryant was inspired by her best friend’s bachelorette party. She wanted something that was fun for the whole group. Jello shots came to mind, but she’d always found them messy and gross.

“So I decided to re-imagine what it could be, and Boozy Bites was born.  They are vegan, so everyone in the group can enjoy, and come in our patent pending push up cup, so they are always mess free,” says Bryant.

“And it was been a wonderful journey,” she adds.  I now get to work on what I love, create jobs for diverse and wonderful people, and know that I am helping bring excitement and fun to celebrations around the country.”

So how do you make a vegan Jello shot? With seaweed, of course!

“Because they are vegan, they actually have a bit firmer texture than gelatin, which makes them a very enjoyable as a multi bite experience,” says Bryant. And the push up container means there’s need to use your tongue or finger as with traditional Jello shots.

These vegan Jello shots come in a variety of different flavors including citrus punch (in green, orange, and red), Moscow mule, rosé, mojito, and for the holidays — candy cane! They’re 15% alcohol by volume, and by all accounts — they’re totally tasty!

You can order online from almost anywhere. They ship from Austin, Texas, and stay fresh for a whopping 30 days! Plenty of time to party.
