NYCWFF’s Burger Bash Serves Vegan Mac & Cheese for First Time Ever
The New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) is known for many things: tipsy celebrity chefs, free-flowing fermented drinks, and more edible options than a menu at the Cheesecake Factory. But with events like Meatopia on the lineup, the annual event is not generally renowned for its veggie-friendly cuisine.
Times are changing, however, and one of this year’s meat-heaviest events — Burger Bash — served up chef Chloe Coscarelli’s vegan sweet potato mac and cheese.
The vegan chef and owner of the uber-popular new Manhattan restaurant, by CHLOE, was stoked to offer up the cheesy treat, a popular menu item at the eatery.
“We were so excited to be part of our first-ever NYCWFF at Burger Bash this year!” Coscarelli told Latest Vegan News about last Friday’s soiree. “At an event this meat-centric, it was nice to give guests a little taste of our vegan sweet potato mac n cheese. But next year – we definitely want to throw our veggie burger in the ring for the main event!”
According to Chloe’s Instagram, Rachel Ray was even a fan of the culinary creation. No surprise, given that by CHLOE has been earning rave reviews with omnivores and herbivores alike. The eatery is so popular that there are already plans for a second location.
Next year, who knows?! Maybe Chef Chloe’s plant-strong burger creation will win the day. Anything is possible in this brave new world.
