In episode two, The Morning After, Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt (played by Leslie Grossman) is talking to her fellow post-apocalyptic roomies (including Evie Gallant, played by Joan Collins) about all the options available before the world ended.
“We didn’t just order a burger, we needed to know if we wanted turkey or veggie or that meatless kind that bleeds like the real thing,” says Coco.
Mallory (played by Billie Lourd), agrees, and they reference having “four Chrises that could star in a movie”, plus tons of options for coffee, dog breeds, and everything else.
Sadly, in this miserable, post-apocalyptic American Horror Story world, there are no veggie burgers. There’s no food, period — other than tasteless nutrition cubes and some other highly questionable options.
Luckily, we live in a world where meatless burgers that “bleed” — like Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger and Impossible Foods’ Impossible Burger — are available everywhere, from Whole Foods to TGI Fridays to White Castle.
It’s a good time to be alive.
