Hampton Creek Saved 16,330,514,346 mg of Sodium from Being Consumed Last Year
Hampton Creek has made a lot of announcements lately. In addition to a mega deal with a food service giant, new packaging options for the wildly popular Just Mayo, and the fact that Just Scramble will be hitting shelves later this year, the company just released another big broadcast: the savings of a whopping 16,330,514,346 mg of sodium from human consumption.
The latest in a series of impact announcements from the successful, plant-based start-up shows various quantities of salt (on movie theater popcorn eaten in a month! on potato chips eaten during the Super Bowl!) leading up to the final number.

Interestingly, the sodium content of Just Mayo is just a bit lower than that of Hellmann’s: Hellmann’s has 90 mg per serving while Just Mayo has 80 mg. Obviously, even the smallest of changes can add up to a HUGE difference, and this is how Hampton Creek is changing the world.
Given that too much sodium can lead to hypertension, which can lead to heart disease, this news is going to make a lot of human hearts happy.
