Food tech start-up Hampton Creek is nothing if not disruptive—and it’s earned the official title to prove it. The company made CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list of organizations who are revolutionizing business, and the dedicated crew is on a serious roll.
With the recent bird flu outbreak, CEO Josh Tetrick and team have jumped at the chance to start providing products to food service purveyors. Tetrick told INC.com that Hampton Creek is on track to be the fastest-growing food company on earth (though caveats that by mentioning that it’s really a tech company—not a food company).
Now, with the boost in interest and demand, the company is moving the launch date of its liquid-egg product, Just Scramble, up to November, INC.com reports. In addition, Just Ranch salad dressing is appearing temporarily in Kroger stores (then rolling out to food service providers), and a pancake batter product will be coming in July. (Needless to say, all the company’s products are dairy and egg-free.)
Hampton Creek is projecting its revenue run rate will rise from $48 million now to $120 million by next January, the story reads.
“This is a unique moment in time where we can drive real fundamental change into the food system at hyperspeed” Tetrick said in the piece.
Amen to that.
