Field Roast Releasing Two New Stuffed Vegan Roasts Ahead of the Holidays
The holidays are almost here, which means epic herbivore vs. omnivore dinner table battles are about to begin. Any eater who’s outside the mainstream has likely been through a “discussion” or two with their families about edible options on special occasions.
Luckily, Field Roast is all about making grain meat products that appeal to meat eaters and veg diners alike, and they’re releasing two new items ahead of the holiday season: a Smokey Forager’s Roast with Foraged Ingredients and Pineapple Mustard Glaze; and a two-pound Celebration Roast with Traditional Bread Stuffing and Porcini Mushroom Gravy.
The Smokey Forager’s Roast is all new, and the company says it was inspired by the Pacific Northwest.
“The Pacific Northwest has been our home for almost 20 years, so we wanted to make something with local, foraged ingredients,” Field Roast tells Latest Vegan News. “What first came to mind were beautiful Chanterelle mushrooms, and we found wild huckleberries to best compliment them. We let those two ingredients influence the rest of the roast and specific spice blends we chose.”
Then there’s the Celebration Roast. It normally comes only in a one-pound size — but this new, larger roast will feed even more folks. The traditional stuffing is made with fresh onions, celery, cranberries and butternut squash; and the gravy features porcini mushrooms and dried shiitakes.
The two new vegan roasts join Field Roast’s other holiday items: the Hazelnut Cranberry Roast en Croute, and the 1 lb Celebration Roast with sausage stuffing.
“The food preferences of those surrounding a dinner table have varied for a long time and continue to change,” the company explains. “Not everyone that comes together for Thanksgiving eats the same kind of food, and luckily the vegan and vegetarian options have expanded over time. Field Roast enjoys making products that are delicious and appealing to anyone, and these gourmet vegetarian roasts definitely raise the bar for the category. Not only can we say goodbye to fake turkeys and meat ‘substitutes’ for those practicing a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, but we can put a decadent vegetarian centerpiece on the table that everyone will want a slice of … and that includes the meat-eaters. Our stuffed roasts have become a holiday traditions for 12 years and we hope that these new offerings will become a tradition at even more family tables.”
The new roasts are available where Field Roast products are sold (check their store locator here), but it’s always wise to call ahead. Whole Foods is always a good place to start.
